KZ Writes Good
The internet is a huge bathroom wall, and any halfwit with a keyboard and a connection has an opportunity to scrawl on it. Take me, for instance. My name is KZ. For a good time, come find me at Prosaic Shades of Gray.

Smoke From All Around

I’m sick of hearing about sports fans that riot after a big game. Are people’s lives so bankrupt that they feel the need to break shit every time a major sporting event comes to an end? I don’t know what the situation was like in Tampa Bay, but I do know that, after the Super Bowl, plenty of Raiders fans stormed the streets of Oakland and rioted just for the sake of rioting. There was no cause, and not even a remotely justifiable reason for the outburst of aggression. People weren’t protesting a grave injustice–they were, in fact, happily committing one. When the Raiders lost, people let loose and started breaking windows, flipping over cars, and setting fire to buildings. And the sad thing is, the same thing would have happened in the streets of Oakland if the Raiders had won. The post-game riots don’t even shock me anymore. But then again, they never cease to astound me, either. Human stupidity is so boundless and so enduring, that sometimes it’s almost enough to make me lose hope and stop caring. Almost.

"Human stupidity is so boundless and so enduring"
Tell it like it is, man! *sigh*
personally, i love riots. there is nothing as wholesome as a giant mob of people letting out their aggression for no apparent reason. it's like in the movie fight club, fighting just cause it feels good. it's kinda like being in a mosh pit. there's something in all of us (okay mostly men, all that testosterone) that makes us wanna hit each other or break stuff.
now i know what ur gonna say, "aren't we suppose to be striving to control those base instinctual emotions that make us wanna break shit?"
for those of u who can control them most of the time, ur better people than i. but i gotsta get "crunk."
i wanna move to a country like scotland, all those soccer riots! i'd be in heaven. glasgow, here i come.
I agree with Francisco. Take the PiƱata for example. People may say that it's only dirty Mexicans trying to break shit apart to get candy without having to work for it, but it's more then just that. It's man's basic instinct. Who wants to create? What's the fun in that? No one builds a line of Dominos just to admire the pretty white tiles with black dots. They want to knock that shit over and see the beauty of those tiles pounding each other down in a seamless line of destruction. Ah, it makes you want to cry.
